SINGAPORE, July 11 (Xinhua) -- Singapore stocks closed lower on Wednesday, with the benchmark Straits Times Index (STI) down 0.79 percent or 25.75 points to close at 3,249.08.
A total of 2.24 billion shares changed hands with a turnover of 1.21 billion Singapore dollars (about 890.1 million U.S. dollars). Losers outnumbered gainers by 272 to 158.
The STI index closed up 1.42 percent or 46.01 points to close at 3,274.83 on Tuesday.
