BERLIN, Sept. 4 (Xinhua) -- Eintracht Frankfurt's defender Carlos Salcedo will be sidelined after suffering an ankle injury, "The Eagles" announced via the club's official homepage on Tuesday.

Frankfurt suffered their first defeat of the season but they also lost Mexico international Salcedo, who tore his syndesmosis ligament in his left ankle during Saturday's 2-1 loss to Werder Bremen.

The defender underwent a surgery on Tuesday and will be ruled out until further notice.

Eintracht Frankfurt are in ninth place in the Bundesliga standings. They face Dortmund in the third round after the international break. Enditem
