DHAKA, Jan. 30 (Xinhua) -- In a bid to encourage people to use public transport, the Bangladeshi government will introduce integrated ticketing system for all modes of transportation in the country.

During a meeting of Bangladesh's highest economic policy-making body, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Tuesday asked the relevant government authorities for necessary measures in this connection.

After the meeting of Executive Committee of the National Economic Council (ECNEC),Planning Minister MA Mannan told journalists that they will develop an integrated ticketing system for roads, railways and waterways transportation so that people can travel with a single ticket.

Apart from this, Hasina stressed the need for BMRE (Balancing, Modernization, Rehabilitation, Expansion) to improve the railway services.
