MADRID, Aug. 9 (Xinhua) -- Spanish shares fell by 1.25 percent on Friday with the benchmark index Ibex-35 opening at 8,869.00 points and closing at 8,757.80 points.

The shares of 30 of the 35 companies on the Ibex-35 lost in the day.

Friday's worst performer was telecommunications company Masmovil Ibercom, which lost 7.23 percent of its share value, while steel producers Arcelormittal and Acerinox saw share prices fall by 6.94 and 3.32 percent respectively.

Another telecommunications company, Cellnex Telecom had Friday's best results with share prices going up by 1.61 percent, while shares in property companies Merlin Properties and Inmobiliaria Colonial rose by 1.51 and 0.29 percent. Enditem
